The current photograph was taken on the University Green facing west. South Prospect Street is in the foreground. A green strip with a wooden and rope fence and then a sidewalk stand between the street and the lawn to the Waterman Building. At the corner to the lawn, there is a small flower garden. A dirt path cuts through the lawn. Tall deciduous trees stand on the lawn. There is a bike rack with bikes. Men and women stand by the bike rack and sit on the stairs. Waterman is a three-story brick building with white marble accents done in the Colonial Revival style. Yellow and green flags with scenes of the university hang from the white columned portico. The Delta Psi house was on this property until 1940 when it was demolished to build the Waterman Building in 1941. Only the road and the sidewalk remain from the historic picture though both have been worked on. For more information, visit www.uvm.edu/campus.
