Title:
1927 Flood in Proctor near Otter Creek
- Date:
- 1927
- Description:
- This photograph captures the intense 1927 flood in action. The water is flowing at an incredible speed creating a large white cap in the middle. A bridge in the center of the image, most likely for railroads appears to be in more water than it is used to. On the left there is a hill covered with debris from the flood. Towards the background there are several houses with chimneys in a neighborhood that are dangerously close to the water. Running through the top of the image are utility lines. Off to either side of the image there are leafless deciduous trees and conifers. In the background there is a mountain range visible. The day is overcast, the season is fall.
