- Date:
- 1943-08-21
- Description:
- This historic image shows a piece of machinery referred to as the "White Pigment Grizzly'" In the foreground, there is wooden scaffolding constructed over a wooden shack. At the top of the scaffolding, there is a platform with a wooden railroad. A man is standing on the platform, which is covered in what appears to be ground marble, guiding a bucket of marble to the floor. On one end of the platform, there is a ramp constructed out of wood and metal. Behind this machine, there is a dirt road, and two trucks are visible on it. To the right, the quarry face is visible. Note the utility lines and poles, and the shrubs and bushes around the quarry.
