- Date:
- 1923
- Description:
- This photograph depicts a "piece gang" in the interior of Mill #19, part of Vermont Marble Company, in Rutland. This "piece gang" is comprised of two male workers who appear to be inspecting a large block of marble. The marble block is being held in the air by cords connected to an overhanging piece of steal machinery. The men are standing on a flat cart that appears to move along tracks. The cart already has several pieces of polished marble stacked on it. Behind the works, there are more stacks of marble blocks.
