Description:
This historic photograph documents an adit at the Ely Mine in Vershire, Vermont. This adit is framed in timbers, and recessed in a large fieldstone retaining wall. This wall is partially hidden in a wall of deciduous trees and numerous shrubs. Some soil erosion is visible extending from the mouth of the mine and out towards the road.
