1927 Flood Damage near Powers Hill

Title:
1927 Flood Damage near Powers Hill
Town:
Proctor
County:
Rutland
State:
Vermont
Date:
1927
Description:
This photograph shows Powers Hill after the 1927 flood. Through the middle of the image, there is what appears to be an area of sediment where the water from the flood most likely ran through, and is possibly still running through. To the side of this stretch there are several pieces of debris, and there appears to be loose topsoil, as the water has eroded the banks of the hill. Off to the left there is a small wooden shed. On the hill there are several wooden-framed houses with chimneys. In the background there are several utility poles and lines. The season is fall.
