1927 Flood in Barnett Village

Title:
1927 Flood in Barnett Village
Town:
Barnet
County:
Caledonia
State:
Vermont
Date:
1927-11
Description:
A now dry wash, cut into the land of Barnet village, has left devastation in its wake. A utility pole is sunk into the mud and there are rocks at the bottom of the ditch; another pole has been clearly tilted, and a set of wooden fence poles is angled over the edge of the culvert. A commercial building sits at the lip of the ditch. Two other homes, still standing, are visible in the background on the left side; on the right, we see hills and bare deciduous trees. Dave Warden writes on 2010-04-30: Building on left: first story - general store; second story tenement; third story Odd Fellow hall. Houses are up Church Street
