Title:
Winooski River and Winooski from Burlington Today
Town:
Burlington
County:
Chittenden
State:
Vermont
Date:
2008-03-10
Description:
As you can see in the comparison between this image and the historic image, the flood waters in 1927 were very high. Surely the river has changed over the years but this image provides some scope as to just how heavy the flood waters were. Additionally, there is a very steep river bank and except for the trees that have grown into that bank (that are present in the image) Riverside Avenue in Burlington has replaced any form of riparian zone.
