Men's Hairstyles
Men's hair in the 1860s was cut to ear level in the back, parted on the side, and combed back into smooth style. Chin whiskers were popular, and sideburns were cut short. Mustaches were not en vogue during the 1860s.
The man on the right displays the neat sideburns and chin whiskers. Fuller chin whiskers are displayed on the man on the right, as well as the side-parted, combed-back hairstyle.
