Bennett's Dam

Title:
Bennett's Dam
Town:
Guilford
County:
Windham
State:
Vermont
Date:
1930 - 1940
Description:
In this black and white photograph of Bennett’s dam in Guilford, Vermont, there are four people: Charles, Eleanor, Leon Ogden and Leon Thayer. Everyone is wearing a shirt with his or her “bathing trunks,” even the boys. The setting is Bennett’s Dam; Bennett’s Dam is “in back of the Deuchme house on Bonnyvale road.” There is someone wearing a bathing cap in the background. There are deciduous and evergreen trees in the foreground and background. The water looks shallow. It appears to be a sunny summer day. This photo was taken in the 1930’s. There isn't any reference to Bennett’s Dam in the Official History of Guilford, but the Bennett’s were a well-known family in Guilford.
