Title:
Burlington Ice Storm
- Date:
- 1998-01-10
- Description:
- Image shows ice-covered trees and a cross walk sign on Mansfield Avenue. Amanda Enright writes on 2008-12-29: This colored image displays two large deciduous trees in the foreground, each are covered in a thick layer of ice. The branches of the trees are weighted down by the weight of the ice. Many of the branches have snapped off as a result of the extreme weight of the ice. The branches are strewn on the lawn that is frosted over in patches. In the extreme foreground of the image there is a yellow, metal road sign that signals a crosswalk. Therefore, one knows there is pavement next to the road sign where the crosswalk resides. There are icicles hanging from the road sign. In the background lies a house where there appears to be an evergreen tree covered in ice that is hovering over the house. The sky is not cloudy but blue. Winter.
