Ben and Jerry's Factory

Title:
Ben and Jerry's Factory
Town:
Waterbury
County:
Washington
State:
Vermont
Date:
1993
Description:
This image shows two women (Christine Massey (right) and Clair Massey (left)) posing by a large sign at the Ben and Jerry’s factory. The foreground is completely taken up by a large blue circular sign, made to imitate the lid from a pint of ice cream. Writing on the sign says “Ben & Jerry’s - Chocolate Fudge Brownie- Chocolate Ice Cream with Fudgy Brownies- 1 Pint.” In the center, there is a picture of Ben and Jerry with their faces cut out. The two women stand behind the sign and their faces are visible in the cut out section. Behind the sign, there is a large parking lot and multiple cars are parked in it. A metal fence, street lights, and utility lines are also visible. There are several deciduous and coniferous trees, small shrubs, and areas of grass bordering the parking lot. Beyond the lot, wooded mountains are visible stretching into the distance. Many of the leaves have begun to change color, and it appears to be early autumn. A handwritten note on the back of the image reads “Christine Massey, Clair Massey, Ben and Jerry’s Factory, Waterbury” and the date 1993 is circled.
