- This painting is of a bridge crossing the Otter Creek above its falls at Middlebury. In the foreground are people standing amongst large boulders. There are building on either side of the falls, several of them many stories high. On the left bank, there are wooden beams sticking up. Above the falls, is a wooden bridge, where a man and a horse are crossing the water. There are some trees in the background. This information comes from "Crossings, A History of Vermont Bridges" by Robert McCullough.
