Title:
Bridge Reflected on Water
- Date:
- 1880
- Description:
- This painting depicts a wooden bridge crossing Brown's River. The reflection of the bridge can be seen in the river. Along the river, the banks are grassy, and on the left side, a wooden beam is sticking up. The bridge is resting on a stone wall on both banks of the river. There is a road leading up to the bridge on both sides, and has a wooden fence on the far side. Leafy deciduous trees can be seen. In the distance, the outlines of mountains are visible. This information comes from "Crossings, A History of Vermont Bridges" by Robert McCullough.
