Description:
This image shows construction on a solid-spandrel arch bridge across the Lamoille River. The bridge opened in 1924 and remained open until 1992, when it was replaced. In this image, there are several men working on the bridge. There are steel beams, rods and lumber visible. On the right are piles of large bags, possibly filled with concrete. In the background are several wooden houses, with leafless deciduous trees scattered amongst them. This information comes from "Crossings, A History of Vermont Bridges" by Robert McCullough.
