Title:
Original layout of Bristol (4 divisions)
- Date:
- 1820?
- Description:
- Original layout of Bristol copied from a map written in ink on a sheepskin, probably around 1820 but possibly earlier. The sheepskin is properly protected and stored in the Bristol Historical Society. It has the names of the original proprietors (mostly from Connecticut) and the divisions assigned to them. The section on the right hand side, column starting with lot 23 2nd division and ending with lot 62 second division, and the column starting lot 22 second division and ending with lot 63 second division was given over to the Town of Lincoln in 1824 as access from Lincoln to that area was easier than access from Bristol.
