Title:
Grand Union
- Date:
- 1994
- Description:
- This color image shows where Arthur LaFountain once had a blacksmith shop in Middlebury, Vermont. Located on Washington Street, which is now paved, the blacksmith shop was in a shed that was attached to a hotel. Now there is a Grand Union in its place. This photograph shows a paved street, with a sidewalk next to it. Beyond the sidewalk there is a large parking lot filled with automobiles and a large brick commercial building. There are streetlights along the sidewalk and trees around the lot. All image rights reserved to Henry Sheldon Museum, www.henrysheldonmuseum.org. Irene Barna writes on 2013-09-17: Looking south, the building pictured is a Shaw's super market. The Grand Union, now torn down, store would have been to the left and before this lot was enlarged.
