Description:: The historic image gives a bird's eye view of the Winooski River after the flood of 1927. A caption at the bottom of the image reads, "11-12-27-12:00M. Winooski, Vt." The image shows the Winooski traveling over a dam before it passes several mill buildings along the bank of the river. A pontoon bridge has been constructed at the site of the old bridge that connected the town of Winooski to Burlington. At the bottom of the photograph, a road and several buildings on both sides of the river were destroyed by the floodwater. A railroad bridge was wiped out near the top of the photograph.
