The historic image shows a rural, dirt road through a cleared valley. Utility poles line both sides of the road. There are large boulders or outcrop visible behind a wire fence in the right foreground in the image. The road passes houses and farm buildings in the distance. Forested hills surround the valley. It looks like summer. A handwritten title at the bottom of the image reads, "Bolton Town Road." Ryan Sterling (wq2006) writes for LS01870_000.jpg 2006-1-5: This image shows a dirt road with numerous thin tire marks cut through it. In the right foreground thigh-high grass lines the road with a thin wire fence. Boulder out crops bulge from the right of the photograph but hang over a field. Two utility poles stand in the back and towards the middle of the image follow the road back to faint houses and a Barn?. Following the left side of the image back there are groups of shrub and hedge-like vegetation lining the edge of the field. The right side of the image shows a hillside, vegetated, and larger then the hills towards the left of the image. From the thick grasses the season seems summer. From the blur of the background it seems overcast. Mo Humphrey writes on 2018-05-08: I may be wrong, but these could have been taken by Joseph Levesque sometime in the 1920s. He has a whole series of these photographs.
