- This historic photograph documents the flood of 1927 wreaking havoc in Winooski. Just beyond the surging waters of the Winooski River, one can see the American Woolen Co. devastated by the flood. Water can be seen pouring out of the windows on the lower level. A few leafless deciduous trees can be seen in front of the building. A water tower and smokestack are visible behind the building.
