Title:
1927 Flood Movie Screenshot: Jonesville 7
- Date:
- 1927-11
- Description:
- This image is a screenshot from a movie made using actual footage from the 1927 flood: This image is from a clip of the 1927 Flood Movie that begins with the caption "The Central Vermont R.R. was practically wrecked but through the energy and financial aid of the Canadian National R.R. was rebuilt and running again in 92 days." This shot shows the Jonesville train station after the flood waters had receded. The sign on the train station reads "Jonesville." This would most likely have been taken from "Main St" in Jonesville which was at the time much more bustling than it is today. Note the debris on the ground and that you can just see the other side of the Winooski river peeking through the trees.
