Description:: This aerial photograph depicts the town of Middlebury looking south down Otter Creek. In the center of the photograph Main Street crosses Otter Creek at the Battell Bridge. Commercial downtown is located on either side of the bridge, and the white steeple of the Congregational Church can be seen at the top of Main Street to the left of the river. Below Main Street the long industrial buildings of Marble Works are visible on the left side of the river. The road running parallel to Otter Creek on the right is Vermont Route 23, while the main thoroughfare leading out of town on the opposite side is Vermont Route 7.
