A House on Shelburne Bay

Title:
A House on Shelburne Bay
Town:
Shelburne
County:
Chittenden
State:
Vermont
Date:
1860 - 1930
Description:
The photo shows a small gravel/sand beach and point on Lake Champlain. Juniper Island can be seen at right, with New York in the distance beyond. There is a small boat pulled up onto the beach. A small dock can be seen in the bottom right corner. The point is made of bedrock, most likely limestone. You can see the nearly horizontal bedding. Cedars and deciduous trees on the point hide a small white house. A small flagpole is out at the edge of the point, without a flag on it. Very little wind as there are virtually no waves on the lake.
