Aerial View of the University of Vermont Barn

Description:: This historic aerial photograph documents the new University of Vermont farm from the sky. The new farm is located in the middle of a large open terrace and consists of one large barn, three smaller barns, some out sheds, and three silos. Spear Street surrounds the farm to the west, while agricultural fields surround the farm on the north, east, and west. The field to the east has cows and a manure pit visible. At this time, Spear Street was lined with large elm trees, and had only a handful of dwellings. On the other side of Spear Street is the Burlington Country Club, where numerous sand traps and patches of forest are visible along the golf course. The season is most likely autumn.
