Title:
Camel's Hump with Fields in Foreground, Reshoot
Town:
Charlotte
County:
Chittenden
State:
Vermont
Date:
2007-06-23
Description:
This image shows the very popular Camelís Hump. With an elevation of 4,083 feet, it is the third highest mountain in Vermont. Long grass fields slope downward in the foreground of this image, reaching a line of shrubs and young trees. A large red barn and six long, gray buildings can be seen at the other side of the field. There are also dirt tracks in the field. Another line of trees and shrubs marks the end of this field, and another can be seen on the other side. Another farmhouse can be seen on the left of this third field. The edge of the field is heavily forested. This modern photograph shows Camelís Hump at a closer view than the historic image, though a farther distance could not be obtained due to a buildingís proximity. The two farmhouses and the long building that are probably storehouses have been constructed during the elapsed time. The tree to the right in the historic image no longer exists, but there has obviously been an increase in tree growth.
