Description:
This aerial photo was taken of the new Alburg-Rouses Point Bridge from over Alburg looking southwesterly towards New York State. This bridge over Lake Champlain was opened to traffic on September 22, 1987. The old bridge built in 1938 was removed in 1988. Notice the old railroad trestle to the south of the highway bridge. The westerly end of the trestle is being used as a dock for a marina. Notice the remains of Fort Montgomery in New York state in the lower right of this photo. Also notice Windmill Point in Alburg in the upper left of this photo.
