Title:
Bringing Home the Christmas Tree in Norwich
- Date:
- 1972
- Description:
- Photographer Carroll Hanson captured this family bringing home their Christmas Tree in Norwich in the winter of 1972. A man, woman, child, and dog trudge across a hilly, snow-covered field. The man carries a conifer over his shoulder, and the woman pulls the child on a sled. All our decked out in heavy coats, snow pants, boots, hats, and gloves. A farm complex is visible in the far distance. The open field is sparsely populated with shrubs and deciduous trees, but a band of trees spans the background of the photograph, beyond the farmstead. The sky is thick with snow clouds, and the haziness of the landscape suggests that it may be snowing. All rights reserved, copyright Vermont Life Magazine.
