Mansfield from Brown's River
- Date:
- 1865
- Description:
- This painting shows Mount Mansfield from Brown's River in Jericho. In the foreground is a dirt road leading up to a wooden fence. The fence is connected to a longer fence made out of branches. To the right of the road is a small river with a wooden bridge crossing it. The bridge is resting on two stone piles. Behind the bridge are leafy deciduous trees. Beyond the trees are rolling hills, that are partially meadows and partially wooded. The road continues up a slope on the left side of the painting. Mt. Mansfield is in the distance. This information comes from""Crossings, A History of Vermont Bridges" by Robert McCullough.
