Aerial View, Redstone and Athletic Campus

Description:: This historic aerial photograph documents the Redstone and Athletic Campus during the mid 1960's. In this photograph, Redstone campus consists of Redstone Hall, Southwick Hall, Coolidge Hall, Robinson Hall, Slade Hall, Christie/Wright/Patterson Halls, and Mason/Simpson/Hamilton Halls. The athletic campus consists of the Gutterson Field House, the Patrick Gym, and the Track. The area surrounding these buildings is devoid of large trees, with some smaller trees taking root in front of Redstone Hall. Framing campus to the west (bottom of image) is South Prospect Street, which is lined with homes, trees, and neighborhoods, which extend down and out of frame. Framing Campus to the East (top of image) is Spear Street, which is also lined with houses. To the South of campus is the Burlington Country club, and to the North lie the Redstone water tower and other small buildings. In the distance lies the town of South Burlington, which consists of suburbs and urban sprawl. Separating Burlington from South Burlington is Interstate 89, which has just recently been completed.
