1927 Flood Movie Screenshot: Jonesville 6
- Date:
- 1927-11
- Description:
- This image is a screenshot from a movie made using actual footage from the 1927 flood: This image is from a clip of the 1927 Flood Movie that begins with the caption "The Central Vermont R.R. was practically wrecked but through the energy and financial aid of the Canadian National R.R. was rebuilt and running again in 92 days." This shot shows the Jonesville train station after the flood waters had receded. Notice the hilltop in the top-left corner of the image, which is the element of this photo that makes it easiest to place today. Notice also the buildings on the left of the picture, which burned down in the 1960s and the debris on the ground around the train station. The sign on the train station reads "Jonesville."
