Description:: This is a color photograph of Camel's Hump. The site is above tree line and the only vegetation is some shrubby grass. A vertical rock face takes up most of the view. On the side of the rock face is a light colored cross (which appears to be man made) that could be there to mark the crash sight. There is a man wearing a white t-shirt sitting on the top of this rock face. In the distance is the surrounding mountainous landscape that is densely forested. Brian S. Lindner writes on 2011-04-14: This is definitely not the location of the 10/16/44 bomber crash on Camels Hump. This cross was painted by Dartmouth students in memory of Denton Wiss Taylor who fell to his death from this cliff on May 07, 1933. Taylor was on a Dartmouth Outing Club camping trip when he fell.
