An aerial view of interstate-89 construction can be seen in this photograph. This photograph depicts a location between Montpelier and Waterbury. The densely vegetated and hilly areas are disturbed in some areas by clearings and excavation. Earthmoving as well as road construction vehicles can be seen among the dirt clearings. The meandering WInooski River is visible at the bottom left corner of the photograph but also can be seen winding its way throughout the image. In a larger section of cleared vegetation a wooden-framed building sits with numerous automobiles parked near by. Utility wires and wood poles cut through the land. A cemetery is visible just before the trees become more densely populated. Wooden-framed buildings are visibly scattered throughout the photograph. Conifers and leafy deciduous trees line the hillsides and mountains in this photograph. Skip Flanders writes on 2010-10-25: This photo is in the City of Montpelier where the long I 89 bridge goes over US Rt 2, the Winooski River and roads on the other side of the river. You can see Montpelier's Green Mountain Cemetery to the left of the center of the photo on Rt 2. Paul Carnahan writes on 2012-06-07: Small point, but it is Green Mount Cemetery, not Green Mountain.
