Title:
Apartments on Lake Eden
- Date:
- 2006-08-29
- Description:
- The site of an old, popular restaurant from the 1930’s, Ruggles’ Wayside, currently houses apartments on Lake Eden. The road, Route l00, has been paved and is the main artery from Morrisville to Newport. Many mature deciduous trees surround the building. Utility lines are visible on the left side of the image and two satellite dishes are mounted on the roof. Two vehicles are parked outside the residence next to a canoe and an all terrain vehicle (ATV). Several no parking signs are posted. The right side of the image shows a grassy area leading up to a wood bench and fence along the lake. There is a utility pole to the left and several cars.
Randy LaGue writes on 2013-01-13:
The original wayside resturant located on the grassy area to the right of the new building. The building in the picture was built upon the site of a Dancehall that stood to the left of the old Wayside and whos roof colapsed in the early 70's after a heavy spring snow storm.
