Dewey at Montpelier
Town:
Montpelier
County:
Washington
State:
Vermont
Date:
1890 - 1900
Description:
Stereoview shows Dewey at Montpelier with large parade. Matt Kuhn (WQ2007) writes on 2007-01-12: This image shows a stereoview of a parade in Montpelier. The image shows a street corner lined with spectators. The parade proceeds from the right side of the image turns and moves into the distance at the top right side of the image. The majority of the spectators and those in the parade are men who wear suits and bowler hats. Several spectators on the far left of the image hold umbrellas although there is no indication of rain. A marching band can be seen right after the turn. Power lines and telephone lines run along either side of the street. In the distance is a large church decorated with banners and in the upper left is a large white building similarly decorated with banners.
