Angell Lecture Hall

Description:: The current photograph documents Angell lecture hall, which sits on the large open area adjacent to Votey. Angell hall is a structure made of brick and cement that was added to the UVM campus in addition to the Cook Physical Science Building. Not only was the green space cleared for Angell, but also for a central common area that is made of concrete and boxed in by numerous deciduous trees. This area has benches for sitting, and appears to be ill maintained and overused. A lamppost is still visible in this photograph, however the row of lampposts has since disappeared. Adjacent to Angell the parking lot appears to have been removed, as well as the large deciduous Elm tree located by Billings Student Center. Ira Allen and Votey

Date:: 2006
Description:: This image is a photograph of Votey Hall and Kalkin Hall with Ira Allen Chapel peaking up behind Votey. To the right of Votey Billings Student Center can be seen. The picture was taken on the snow-covered CBW green facing northwest. Walkways and bus routes intersect in front of the buildings. Lampposts outline these walkways and bus routes and are newer than the ones in the original photo. Small trees outline Votey and there are larger trees on the green. A large green once occupied the space where Kalkin now stands. View is from farther east than other two images.
