- Writing on the back of the historic photograph reads, "View of the UVM tennis courts, Florence and Mrs. Wilder." The tennis courts sit upon a broad flat terrace, which appears to be used primarily as an agricultural field. In the middle of this field sits the courts, which are surrounded by deciduous trees, benches, and trees. On the court, four people are visible, but none of them appear to be playing tennis. In the background, Perkins Hall and some dwellings are visible along a forested tree line. The season is summer. UVM Campus

Back of UVM Bookstore

- In the more recent photograph, a precise re-shoot was not possible; however, other photos indicate that the courts were located near the site of the University of Vermont Bookstore or Royal Tyler Theater. This photograph shows a few cars the parking lot behind the bookstore looking north to the previous location of the tennis courts. With the Bookstore, Bailey Howe Library, and Marsh Life Science the area appears to have changed quite drastically since the time of the historic photograph.
