Title:
View of Town from Fields
- Date:
- 1860 - 1920
- Description:
- This is a photograph of a town taken in West Fairlee, Vermont. In the foreground of this image, there is a farmhouse with three chimneys adjacent to a few dilapidated barns. In the background, many buildings can be seen including a church with a steeple. In the far distance, there are some heavily vegetated rolling hills. Deciduous and some conifer trees can be seen throughout the image. Season is spring.
Art Ellis writes on 2009-11-17:
This is what is now known as 288 Mill St. The 2 outer buildings to the left are no longer there, and the falling down barn has been replaced, probably not long after this photo due to the condition you see. Other than the out buildings, this residence is in much the same condition as in this photo. I live here, it's a great old house with lots of personality.
