Bennett’s Dam

Title:
Bennett’s Dam
Town:
Guilford
County:
Windham
State:
Vermont
Date:
1924?
Description:
In this photograph of Leon and Charles Ogden at Bennett’s Damn in Guilford, Vermont from around 1924, there is a shadow of the person taking the photograph in the foreground. The boys are standing, wearing “coats and caps.” There are six large trees close to the people in the photograph. A tiny bit of snow is visible on the ground along with other trees in the background. The boys are both wearing dark clothing, and smiling while squinting into the sunlight. There is also a large hill in the background. The Ogden family has been in Guilford for many years. They seemed to go to Bennett’s Dam a lot. They also had a sister named Eleanor. They seemed to be in a lot of the Guilford Historical Society photos, so it is safe to assume that they were well known amongst the Guilford families. Charles M. Ogden went on to serve in the army in World War 2, and Leon Ogden owned 100 acres of land with his wife, Alicia.
