the flagpole at the Skyline, Hogback Mountain

Description:: Although the building has been unused for over a decade, the flagpole still stands at the former Skyline Restaurant on Route 9. The building had been enlarged and revised over the years, but is on the same site as the restaurant shown in the original photo. The main dining room was in the room lined with the big windows seen on the front of the building, giving diners a perfect view of the "100 mile view." Today (2014) weeds, including the invasive Japanese Knotweed visible in the foreground of this photo, are taking over the perennial flower gardens that once graced this slope.
